Product details
The new Phoenix has been obsessively tuned for absolute precision and an even more confidence-inspiring ride than its predecessor. A new mid-high pivot suspension design gives unmatched control and stability on descents, with a dual-chain drive maximising its power, while an MX wheel configuration balances manoeuvrability with smooth rolling for even more speed.
Created in a quest to deliver those tenths of a second that make the difference between winning and losing in downhill, the fifth iteration of the Phoenix will push your limits.
A new suspension for nimble descents
The six-bar dw-link® suspension, designed in cooperation with suspension giant Dave Weagle, offers incredible suppleness in the rear end, which means better grip and ground contact, with more control. Add in an impressive 210mm of rear wheel travel, and you have unmatched balance and flow over rough terrain.
Double the drive, a silky-smooth ride
The Phoenix is the only performance bike currently on the market with a dual-chain drive, which helps the chain to run smoothly, with no noise, better efficiency at transforming your power into raw speed, and virtually no pedal kickback. You'll therefore stay firmly on your pedals and gain extra momentum with zero extra effort.
MX setup for the best of both worlds
A 29″ front wheel will stomp over obstacles, level off bumps and generally make the going easier on highly technical tracks. The 27.5″ rear wheel, meanwhile, delivers speed, agility and a confidence-inspiring low centre of gravity to help you thread your way along the singletrack with unerring precision. Together, they promote increased rear wheel travel and lightening downhill action.
Adjustability and progressivity at a flip
Pivot's Flip Chip lets you raise the bottom bracket and steepen the head angle on a rocky course or leave them be for maximum speed and control going downhill. The Phoenix further offers two progressivity settings, one based on Pivot's blanket recommendation, the other on downhill champion Bernard Kerr's preferences. Tailor its geometry to match your style and the terrain.
A perfect size for every rider
The Phoenix's oversized head tube ensures its compatibility with larger headsets and adding Pivot's reach adjuster headset lets you fine tune your reach from 430-525mm, for an ideal fit. Pivot furthermore offers four frames, fitting riders from 5′1″ to 6′7″, with independent strength to weight analysis and custom-tuned carbon guaranteeing consistent performance and stiffness for all sizes.
